7 Success Habits
Of Visionary Leaders
By Mark Mitchell
Values: If you plan to succeed in these changing times &endash; you must let your values and personal integrity determine your future. Values are the why that inspires the how. They invisibly influence every decision you make. Your values are the foundation to which everything you do is anchored.
Vision and Purpose: Great leaders have a clear vision and purpose that pulls everyone toward a future possibility that has not yet materialized. A vision is a clear picture of what you believe is possible. Your vision becomes the context for the unfolding of your desired outcomes. It is your working premise that takes you beyond the limits of the possible into the impossible.
Attitude and Passion: The single most important element separating one individual or companys performance from another is the attitude and passion you have for what you are doing.
Innovative Thinking: To grow both yourself and your enterprise, you must open your mind to new ways of thinking. Success today is a function of how quickly you can come up with, and implement, creative ideas. The key is to think outside the box. You must be willing to let go of thinking that has brought you to your current level of success.
Teamwork and Communication: Teamwork and Communication: No organization can accomplish anything of great consequence without a team effort and clear communication between all members of the team. The results produced by a group of people working together synergistically can create greater results than any one person can produce individually.
Focus and Discipline: Focus and Discipline: Nothing great is ever achieved without sustained periods of focus and discipline. Discipline is saying, "I'm going to do this" and doing it. When you are focused, you stay in the present moment regardless of what is happening around you. Energy to accomplish the task at hand is not dissipated by worrying about external situations.
Head and Heart: Head and Heart: Great leaders have achieved a balance between their intellect and heart. They have the ability to analyze and forecast facts, information, and details. Plus, they can follow their hearts and trust in what they feel.
